What should I do if the charging station isn't working?
If the charging station is having issues, report it in the app (you'll even earn Watas for helping the community). You can also contact our 24/7 support directly from the app — we'll guide you to the nearest working station in just a few minutes.
How much does it cost to charge with Oriway?
With Oriway, the price displayed by the operator is the price you pay, everywhere in Europe. No hidden surcharges, 0% commission on roaming charges. Rates vary depending on the operator, the type of charging station, and the time of day—everything is transparent in the app before you plug in.
How long does it take to charge?
It all depends on the charging station's power. Slow AC charging (3.7 to 7 kW) : 8 to 12 hours for a full charge, ideal for overnight home charging. Fast AC charging (11 to 22 kW) : 2 to 5 hours, perfect for the office or the supermarket. DC fast charging (50 to 150 kW) : 30 to 60 minutes for 80%. Ultra-fast charging (150 to 350 kW) : 15 to 25 minutes for 80%, on the highway.
It's my first time charging, how does it work?
It's simple. 1. Open the Oriway app and find an available charging station on the map. 2. Park your vehicle in front of it and plug in the cable (yours or the station's). 3. Start charging from the app or tap your Oriway Pass card. 4. Monitor your charge in real time and wait for the completion notification. That's it.
How do I charge at a motorway service area?
On the motorway, you will mainly find ultra-fast charging stations (150 to 350 kW) provided by Ionity, TotalEnergies, Fastned, or Electra. With Oriway, locate the station, plug in your vehicle, and start charging from the app or with your Oriway Pass card. Expect to recover 80% of your range in 20 to 30 minutes.
Which connector is compatible with my electric vehicle?
In Europe, most electric vehicles use the Type 2 connector for alternating current (AC) charging (up to 22 kW) and the CCS Combo 2 for fast direct current (DC) charging (up to 350 kW). Some Asian models (Nissan, older Mitsubishi) still use the CHAdeMO. Oriway automatically filters for charging stations compatible with your vehicle.
